Relation to curriculum Compulsory module for 4th semester students. This laboratory course reinforces theoretical knowledge from Vertebrate Zoology
through direct observation and analysis of vertebrate specimens. It supports CPL-6 and CPL-7 by engaging students in dissection,
anatomical comparison, and behavioral observation. In line with ASIIN standards, the course emphasizes scientific accuracy,
technical skills, and hands-on competency, enabling students to classify specimens, interpret anatomical structures, and handle
laboratory materials properly for effective teaching and scientific communication.
Teaching methods Hands-on (laboratory), discovery learning, discussion, Q&A
Workload 1 x 45 hours per semester, comprising:

✔ 170 minutes practical activity per week

Credit points 1 SKS = 1.6 ECTS (45 hours)
Prerequisites
Module objectives / Intended Learning Outcomes ✔ Students are able to identify vertebrate structures, functions, and adaptations through laboratory observations and explain their ecological relationships.
✔ Students are able to apply laboratory safety procedures and utilize basic laboratory technologies in vertebrate practicum activities while actively participating in scientific discussions.
Content This course provides practical experience in observing vertebrate diversity, classification, and anatomical structures through laboratory activities and problem-based approaches.
Students apply safety principles, use laboratory equipment, and collaborate in analyzing biological data.The main topics of this course are:
