The Biology Education Study Program of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Syiah Kuala University (USK), was established on July 20, 1967, and officially recognized through Decree Number 161/1967 dated September 4, 1967. Since its inception, the program has been committed to meeting the demand for professional, ethical, and competent biology educators who can contribute to the advancement of education in Indonesia, particularly in Aceh.

Throughout its development, the Biology Education Study Program has continued to grow, supported by qualified permanent lecturers, a relevant curriculum, and adequate facilities and infrastructure. Efforts to enhance the quality of educational delivery have gained formal recognition through accreditation achievements. In 2017, the program received an A accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT), and in 2022 it successfully obtained an EXCELLENT (UNGGUL) accreditation from the Independent Accreditation Institute for Education (LAMDIK) based on Decree No. 734/SK/LAMDIK/Ak/S/XI/2022, valid from May 24, 2022, to May 23, 2027.

With a history spanning more than five decades, the Biology Education Study Program of FKIP USK continues to strengthen its position as a center for advancing excellence and innovation in biology education, with a strong commitment to producing graduates capable of making meaningful contributions to the education sector and society.
