Module title SBEP2031 Aqidah and Ethics in Biology

Relation to curriculum Compulsory module for 3rd semester students. This course integrates Islamic worldview and ethical reasoning into biology.
It supports CPL-4 and CPL-9 by fostering moral and spiritual responsibility in applying biological knowledge.
In line with ASIIN standards, the course emphasizes ethical awareness, character development, and societal responsibility,
including issues such as bioethics, environmental stewardship, and ethical implications of biotechnology from an Islamic perspective.
Teaching methods Discussion, brainstorming, lecture, student-centered learning (SCL), group discussion
Workload 2 x 45 hours per semester, comprising:

✔ 100 minutes lecture and discussion per week
✔ 120 minutes structured tasks per week
✔ 120 minutes independent learning per week
Credit points 2 SKS = 3.34 ECTS (90 hours)
Prerequisites –
Module objectives / Intended Learning Outcomes ✔ Students are able to uphold humanistic values grounded in religious, moral, and ethical principles.
✔ Students are able to analyze the principles of Aqidah, knowledge of Allah, Tauhidullah, and avoid shirk.

➢ Essence and impact of the two Kalimah Syahadat
➢ Asmaul Husna and knowledge of Allah

➢ Introduction to ethics
➢ Ethics in seeking knowledge
➢ Bioethics
➢ Ethics toward others and the environment
➢ Ethics in scientific writing and plagiarism
