Relation to curriculum Compulsory module for 3rd semester students. This course explores taxonomy, anatomy, and reproduction of lower plants
(algae, bryophytes, and pteridophytes). It supports CPL-1 and CPL-6 by strengthening knowledge of plant diversity, evolution,
and ecological roles. In line with ASIIN standards, this course develops observation, classification, and field-study skills
essential for botany education and research.
Teaching methods Lecture, RQA (Reading–Questioning–Answering), discussion
Workload 2 x 45 hours per semester, comprising:

✔ 100 minutes lecture and discussion per week
✔ 120 minutes structured tasks per week
✔ 120 minutes independent learning per week

Credit points 2 SKS = 3.34 ECTS (90 hours)

Content This course discusses principles of Cryptogamae taxonomy including characteristics, habitat, reproduction, classification,
and ecological roles.Main topics:

➢ Algae: characteristics, habitat, classification, reproduction, benefits
➢ Fungi: characteristics, habitat, classification, reproduction, benefits
➢ Lichenophyta: characteristics, habitat, classification, reproduction, benefits
➢ Bryophyta: characteristics, habitat, classification, reproduction, benefits
➢ Pteridophyta: characteristics, habitat, classification, reproduction, benefits
