Module title SBEP3050 Genetics
Semester(s) 6th Semester
Person responsible Dewi Andayani, S.Pd., M.Pd.
Language Indonesian, English
Relation to curriculum Compulsory module for 6th semester students. This course introduces the fundamental principles of heredity and
genetic variation, including classical Mendelian genetics, molecular genetics, and population genetics. It supports
CPL-1 and CPL-5 by strengthening students’ understanding of gene function, inheritance patterns, and the molecular
basis of traits. Ethical considerations in genetic research and biotechnology are also discussed to prepare students
to teach genetics in a scientifically accurate and socially responsible manner.
Teaching methods Discussion, lecture, presentation, exercises
Workload 2 x 45 hours per semester, comprising:

✔ 100 minutes lecture and discussion per week
✔ 120 minutes structured tasks per week
✔ 120 minutes independent learning per week

Credit points 2 SKS = 3.2 ECTS (90 hours)
