Relation to curriculum Compulsory module for 6th semester students. This course is designed to enhance students’ academic communication
and critical thinking skills through the presentation and discussion of current issues in biology education.
It supports CPL-5 and CPL-8 by training students to develop and deliver scholarly presentations, engage in academic
discourse, and reflect on contemporary pedagogical practices. The course also fosters a professional mindset by
preparing students to present research ideas or educational innovations confidently.
Teaching methods Lecture, Q&A, Workshop
Workload 2 x 45 hours per semester, comprising:

✔ 100 minutes lecture and discussion per week
✔ 120 minutes structured tasks per week
✔ 120 minutes independent learning per week
Credit points 2 SKS = 3.2 ECTS (90 hours)
Prerequisites –
Module objectives / Intended Learning Outcomes ✔ Students are able to summarize scientific journal articles into structured and interconnected key points accurately.
✔ Students are able to design effective and visually engaging PowerPoint presentations based on scientific articles.
✔ Students are able to communicate ideas and research findings through oral presentations clearly, accurately, and confidently.
Content This course focuses on analyzing scientific journal articles and transforming them into effective presentation materials.
It includes training in academic communication and presentation techniques.

The main topics of this course are:

➢ Course introduction and journal selection (plants, animals, education; Scopus-indexed journals)
➢ Understanding article structure (background, objectives, methods, results, discussion, conclusion)
➢ Summarizing articles into key points
➢ Converting summaries into slide bullet points
➢ Designing research flowcharts for presentations
➢ Presenting results and discussions in slides
➢ Mini presentation simulation and feedback
➢ Full presentation and evaluation
